Photocyanthesis

Inspired by the Museum of Transology exhibition at the museum a group of Brighton & Hove’s young people worked together to develop their photographic skills lead by Lynn Weddle to create new artworks presented on the South Balcony.

The theme of the work was LGBTU+ identity, exploring self-representation and self-narratives within the work. The group employed cameraless photography techniques such a making camera obsurcas and Cyanotypes processes, from the early invention of the photographic medium.

“Its been difficult but good giving it a go and learning new methods.” Holly, 14

The Cyanotupe self-portraits presented within this Blueprint exhibition explore ideas of self through image, text and drawings, layered into the blue printed imagery.

“Photography Club has been fun I like working with other people, we have the same interested and passions, we have worked really well together.” Holly, 14
